Dye-free Valentine's Day Ideas

Dye-free Valentine's Day Ideas

More and more attention is being focused on the use of food dyes and how food dyes can negatively affect our health. I have made it part of my mission to NEVER use artificial food colors in my products.

Do you want to celebrate Valentine's Day but skip the red food coloring? Try these ideas:

-Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter with two different pancake varieties (like Chocolate Pancake Mix and Cinnamon Pancake Mix). Take the cut-out of one pancake and insert it into the empty space of a different pancake flavor. So fun!

-Create heart shapes using red fruit jams (strawberry, raspberry, etc) on squares of Sweet Cornbread or on pancakes.

-Slice strawberries in half for a natural heart-shaped fruit and add to a pancake or simply place on a plate. You could also thread them on wooden skewers.

-Puree strawberries and drizzle onto pancakes instead of maple syrup.

-Add a heart-shaped piece of chocolate after baking Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies for a fun twist on Peanut Blossom cookies.
